Three suburbs that have long stood out among Sydney families are Pymble, Turramurra and Wahroonga, a leafy pocket of the Upper North Shore.
Their popularity hasn’t changed, even amid the general trend toward smaller homes and, perhaps, has even grown as newcomers discover the area.
Given the focus on these suburbs, it’s surprising that some houses are selling at relatively fair value, at least in the context of North Shore house prices. For example, recent auction sales on large houses in these areas range from $1.6m to $1.8m, based on data from Australian Property Monitors (APM).
While this is well above the Sydney median ($1.2m), it’s still well under typical prices on the lower North Shore.
